Personal Maps - A Team Building Exercise

Knowing the people you work closely with is one of the keys to successful collaboration. Now that we are migrating to remote working, it can be hard to connect with colleagues on a personal level and truly leverage the skills, motivation, and qualities of each team members. I have recently successfully tested a simple yet powerful team building exercise called Personal Maps. It is fairly easy to set up and run, it is fun and lighthearted, yet it has the power to start conversation and allow you to see the people you work with under a different light. A colleague commented "doing this has completely lifted my spirit". The session can be run face-to-face as well as with a virtual team (that's how I tested it).

I have put together a short facilitator's guide and a template slide deck to allow anyone to quickly set up a session for their own team. Feel free to download and personalise:

If you will find this useful, I hope you will let me know in the comments.
